Marc Sorrentino was sentenced first. He will have to pay restitution and will have to pay a fine of $75,000 within 30 days. He is also allowed to surrender voluntarily. When Marc’s prison sentence is over, he’ll be under supervised release for one year.
To recap, the siblings were initially indicted in September 2014 for tax offenses and conspiring to defraud the United States. They allegedly failed to properly pay taxes on $8.9 million in income from 2010 to 2012.
Marc and Mike Sorrentino were indicted on additional charges including tax evasion, structuring and falsifying records in April 2017.
Mike, 36, pled guilty to one count of tax evasion in January 2018. His brother pled guilty to one count of aiding in the preparation of a false and fraudulent tax return. – People

Mike Sorrentino ended with 8 months prison sentence after his attorney argued his client should receive probation. stating that the MTV star played a minor role in the alleged conspiracy and has worked diligently to overcome substance abuse in the time since his arrest.
Prosecutors originally sought a longer prison sentence of 14 months for The Jersey Shore star. The Prosecutors also noted that Mike’s substance addiction didn’t stop him from structuring cash deposits to avoid government scrutiny. They wanted to prove a point with him sending the message that “tax fraud will be met with real punishment.”
Luckily, Mike had attorney Henry Klingeman in his corner to get him a lesser sentence. Mike and Lauren will be getting married before he serves his stint.
