CelebnReality247.com reports that the criminal charges have been dropped against Mary Cosby after the former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star was accused of harboring a minor.

FOX 13 News obtained the court filing that confirmed that the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office dropped misdemeanor charges of harboring a runaway and contributing to the delinquency of a minor against the Bravo star. Mary’s pending trial date was canceled.

Salt Lake City prosecutor, Madison Barr, wrote:

This motion is made upon the grounds that there are evidentiary concerns.

The District Attorney’s office did not offer further comment beyond the filing.

Mary’s lawyer, Stephen McCaughey, commented that his client was happy to see the case dismissed.

The attorney told FOX 13 News on Monday:

In this case, the right decision was made to dismiss it and she’s happy with that.

In October 2021, Mary appeared in court alongside her teenage son, Robert Cosby Jr., to address misdemeanor charges connected to an incident involving the teen’s girlfriend. Mary and Robert were both hit with accusations alleging that they had contributed to the delinquency of a minor, and provided shelter to a runaway. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges. It was unclear at the time if Robert was still romantically involved with the minor.

Mary Crosby Timeline For Charges:

Mary was first charged on April 8, 2021, and prosecutors later confirmed that the charges were related to an April incident.

Attorney, Clayton Simms, told Fox 13, at the time:

The charges sound sinister, but the reality of the situation is much different.

Simms clarified that the incident was “simply a case where Robert‘s girlfriend’s mother didn’t want him hanging out, so she called the police.”

A rep for the reality star reportedly told E! News on August 5, 2021:

Mary is saddened that she was dragged into another family’s domestic situation. But is confident that this misunderstanding will be cleared up soon.

The case against Robert Cosby Jr. was dropped earlier this year.

Mary appeared on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for two seasons. She is no longer part of the Utah-based cast.

Mary was not the only Utah “Housewife” embroiled in legal drama in recent years. Current cast member, Jen Shah, recently pleaded guilty to fraud charges connected to a telemarketing scam.

The indictment alleged that Jen and former business partner, Stuart Smith, participated in a “Business Opportunity Scheme,” which involved marketing services that would supposedly boost the performances and profits of their alleged victims’ companies.

As for Jen, she faces up to 14 years in prison under the deal with prosecutors and up to $9.5 million in fines and restitution. Her sentencing is scheduled for November.
